Experiencing stress on a daily basis; without utilizing ways to reduce the stress, can cause problems not only physically but emotionally and behaviorally as well. Examples include headaches, fatigue, anxiety, anger outbursts, problems with eating, substance abuse etc.
According to the Mayo Clinic, "Studies of the benefits of massage demonstrate that it is an effective treatment for reducing stress, pain and muscle tension".
In The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma, Bessel A. Van der Kolk states, "The mind needs to be reeducated to feel physical sensations, and the body needs to be helped to tolerate and enjoy the comforts of touch. Individuals who lack emotional awareness are able, with practice, to connect their physical sensations to psychological events. Then they can slowly reconnect with themselves.”

About Me
I am a Licensed Massage Therapist and a Certified Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapist.
I am an American Massage Therapy Association Member since 2019. I graduated from The Edge School of Massage in 2019 and have a BA in Psychology and Rehabilitation Science from Arkansas Tech University.
I endeavor to provide a safe space and the best service that I can. I consider the scope of my job is to facilitate relaxation or pain management; as a part of your health routine, rather than a fast fix.
In my opinion; this can only be achieved if there are clear expectations and communication between myself and my client.
